COMMUNICARE

Communicare, Inc. has been a premier provider of behavioral health services in Kentucky’s heartland since 1967. Their dedicated, professional staff strives to ensure quality behavioral health care to the citizens in our communities. With facilities throughout the eight counties in the Lincoln Trail area, we offer convenient access for those with mental illness, behavioral health, developmental and intellectual disabilities, developmental delays, and chemical dependency.

SCHOOLS

In our Triumphant Program, we partner with schools to make it easier for students to transition from school to work-life after graduation. Students are exposed to what their different opportunities could be depending on what their interests are. They are given the opportunity to experience working at a variety of places in the community, seeing what it is like working at the GO Center as well as working on life skills curriculum in a classroom setting.

PARENTS

From the moment our children are born, all parents worry about whether our children will be ok throughout life when we are not around to help them. It is even more of a concern if you are the parent of a developmentally disadvantaged child. That is why we strive so hard to provide each of our individuals with the right tools to be able to live a happy, productive, independent, & fulfilling life.

COMMUNITY INDUSTRIES

CITY OF BARDSTOWN

Bardstown is in the heart of Nelson County. It is easy to see why Bardstown was named “The Most Beautiful Small Town in America” by Rand McNally & USA Today when you learn about the culture, the history, & the compassion of the people that call Bardstown home. With a population of just over 14,000, great things are happening in Bardstown – especially at the Guthrie Opportunity Center!

Local factories and distilleries work closely with the Guthrie Opportunity Center on contract labor opportunities. When opportunities arise where local businesses require outside labor sources, the Guthrie Opportunity Center is allowed to provide a quote to perform the work for those services. We also work with several businesses in the community where it makes more sense for the individuals to perform the work at the customer’s site.
